jumpjet balloon hover vehicles and passengers
This specification was automatically generated from a feature request imported into Ares's LaunchPad bugtracker. If you are interested in fleshing out this feature, please update this page.
So right now, it's impossible to have jumpjet vehicles that allow passengers inside them. The only way to get infantry inside a jumpjet style vehicle is by the DeployToLand function, but unfortunately infantry still can't enter (and even if they could, I'm pretty sure there's no code that would make it so it can deploy to land and release the passengers at the same time).
I'd like to see infantry able to enter vehicles like this, and to have two stages of "deploying". The first stage would land the aircraft, and the second stage would release the passengers.
Also, I might be wrong but if I recall, jumpjet aircraft that landed via DeployToLand= would have to use the deploy function again in order to move again. I'd like it so you could just order it to move and it'll move, without needing it to be "undeployed". This would make it so you'd have to deploy twice in order to release any passengers, but could simply move away without releasing any incase you accidentally deploy (and just generally gives more control over what's happening).
Not exactly a high priority feature request, but it'd be pretty nice to see- could have giant airships with a large amount of passengers inside for air raids, flying battle fortresses (Assuming battle fortress logic works for jumpjet vehicles, which I'd imagine it would), and so on.
