- Meeting to synchronize after the summer
- Opportunities for collaboration with OpenActive CG. We will join a meeting today so we can check synergies.
- No specific activities expected in the group, but we all are interested in keeping the community and push for interoperability.
- Martin: We can propose a session on 25 September -> breakout sessions. Martin will be there so we can propose a session to attract other groups, promote our activities and see if we can continue with interoperability specs.
- Nicolas: Propose the invitation to the federations. The activities are open, so perfect.
- Andy can invite people from Anaheim -> interest in the interoperability of GPS. Martin will draft an agenda so we will be able to share it with him and invite him.
- Andy mentioned that there is a strong open-source movement in LATAM for event management software. We can add it to the description and try to find people that can support the topic.
- Andy: proposal to host it in Oxford, in May. But still unlikely.
- Alexio proposed to host AthTech in San Marino (Innovation Lab in San Marino)
- Next Sep World Champs in Tokyo, Oct. San Diego. We should make it after that.
- Nicolas: We look at the ideal dates could be around 6-10th October. After road world champs.
- In three weeks we will see if there is other options. Otherwise, we can block and start the organization.
- [Andy and Andras had a technical discussion on federated WA calendar]
- [Andy will share the notes after the meeting]
- Andy's proposal to improve the API to receive the WA ID for the competitions after a calendar submission. Currently, it's a manual operation.
- Solving long jump and triple jump competitions with an open hardware/software solution.
- Eddy is willing to donate his open source software for controlling cameras for helping competitions with low budgets. This would enable the use of low-cost equipment (apart from the camera) for ruling sports - grassroots.
- Andy: Difficult to find funds for open source, and offered some guidance on where to find support.
- Eddy: not interested in funding. More on the cooperation side.
- Eddy: help is needed for open source/operation governance. It would be great to have involvement from WA, EA.
- Martin to look for opportunities on this.
- Next meeting 9th October (11.00 CEST)
- Proposal to use other forums, like Discord. Ivan did a study and proposed using Facebook groups. We will discuss this during the next meeting.
