Current status of the work

  • [Martin showing the conceptual model document]

  • … Presented the work to people related to schema.org, also offering suggestions in order to create the final model/vocabulary
  • … Some vocabularies detected: IPTC SportsML(https://iptc.org/standards/sportsml-g2/). Vocabularies for sharing content (e.g., news) about sports in general. There are some specific vocabularies for concrete sports. Athletics is missing.
  • … And the BBC Sport Ontology (http://www.bbc.co.uk/ontologies/sport#).

Open Issues

  • Martin: I’ve been working on the definition of a high-level taxonomy for disciplines. Also sent comments to OpenActive, that is creating a complete list of sports.
  • … There is a proposal to model countries and federations. In order to achieve unique codes and multilingualism.

Clubs and federations

  • [Martin explaining the model of competitors-affiliations]
  • Nicolas: Is the model aligned with the one of Reportlab?
  • Martin: It’s based on their model.
  • Nicolas: in some cases, there is a different structure. In Russia, there is no a clear club structure. Athletes depend on regions to participate in some competitions.
  • [Andy shows their model]
  • Andy: Organizations can be part of other organizations, (for instance, Universities.)

AOB

  • Andy: Next week, we will have some examples of results gathering. We are playing with results of 10000m.
  • Martin: I’ll continue with the revision of the model and checking other models.
  • Nicolas: I don’t receive messages from the opentrac-cg mailing list.
  • Martin: I’ll check with W3C sys-team
  • Nicolas: We have to share events codes from our list.
  • … Also what IOC is doing with results.
