Machines
Which side of the Block is which slot? It does not matter, the machine knows what to put where.
Most Machines have an upgrade slot. This is the bottom right slot.
- Upgrade Slot: up to 7 Machine Upgrade (Stack Operation). Each upgrade increases the amount of simultaneous operations. 3 Upgrades: Each operation is done x4 if possible (enough input items). All recipe costs and power costs are x4 then.
The machines need power (Forge Energy) to run, this requires to have some mod that produces FE and allows transportation.
Most machines have a redstone controll button on the top left. There are three modes: ignore, high and low. On ignore the machine is working no matter what redstone signal it has. High: only runs when it has a signal, low: only runs when it does not have a signal. The red and the green light indicate if the current setting and redstone signal cause the machine to work or not.
The Ammo Press is a early game machine that is used for crafting the basic ammo types: 9mm Bullets, Shotgun shells, Rifle Bullets and High Caliber Rounds.
The machine has 3 input slots, 1 upgrade slot and 1 output slot.
-
Input Slot1: Hard Metal / Core Metal, currently allowed: Steel Ingots and Lead Ingots, requires 1 Ingot per operation.
-
Input Slot2: Soft Metal / Jacket Metal, currently allowed: Copper, Tin, Bronze, Iron, (Likely more will be added). requires 2 Ingots per operation.
-
Input Slot3: Gunpowder, 1 Item per operation.
-
With the 2 buttons ('<' and '>') the type of ammo that is produced is changed, the resource costs are always the same, but the output amount differs per type.
Also an early buildable machine that is used to produce metal plates. Later it is used to produce some more advanced materials and ammo.
The machine has 2 input slots, 1 upgrade slot and 1 output slot.
- Input Slots: Most recipes allow swapping between what item is in slot 1 or 2.
- Stack Split button: If on, the machine will split and item stack in one slot if the other slot is empty and there is a recipe that needs the same item in both slots, this is for easy automation of plate production mostly.
The chemical laboratory is also quite cheap to build and has slightly more complex recipes involving liquids. It has 2 input slots, 1 Flask slot (Currently not used in any recipe), 1 output slot, 1 upgrade slot, 1 input tank and 1 output tank.
- Input Slots: for input items, like the metal press, most recipes requiring 2 items allow them to be swapped.
- Input Tank: Liquid input, if a recipe does not require an input liquid, it does not matter if something is in there or not. No need to empty the tank. But most recipes need a liquid input.
- Output Tank: If a recipe produces a liquid, it will be put there. The tank must be able to hold the liquid for such an operation to start, so either it is empty or contains the same liquid and has enough space left. If a recipe does not produce a liquid, it does not matter what content the output tank has.
- Dump Buttons: above each tank there is a 'x' button that deletes the content of the tank. The fluid is lost.
- Toggle Drain Tank Button: Toggles which tank is drained by pipes (from any sides). This is the output tank by default, but it can be switched to the input tank to drain a liquid out of it.
Needed a bit later in the game, this quite simple machine is used to charge energy cells. It can also charge items implementing the Forge Energy(FE) api. It has 1 input slot, 1 output slot and 1 upgrade slot.
