Data Governance Compliance Call - 31st May 2018

Agenda/Objectives

There is a proposal to move the generic open metadata and governance code/documentation from the Apache Atlas project to the ODPi, where it will be managed by the Data Governance PMC.

Apache Atlas continues to be the reference implementation of a native open metadata repository. However, vendors wishing to integrate/support open metadata and governance would come to the ODPi site for content and support.

The proposed project name for the open metadata and governance code/documentation plus the compliance suite and any content packs we develop is Calypso. The code content is ready to upload to the ODPi GitHub but before we do this we need to agree on the governance of this content.

This is the link to the draft which we will review in the call: https://github.com/odpi/data-governance/wiki/Calypso-Operations-(Draft-for-Review)

Attendees

Mandy Chessell John Mertic Zoe Braiterman Ernie Ostic Susan Malaika Nigel Jones Mike Schultz

Meeting Notes and Actions

We reviewed and updated the proposed Calypso Operations page. We also went through the proposed governance pages that John had created as a pull request in the new Git repository for Calypso: https://github.com/odpi/calypso.

We agreed to merge the 2 pieces of work and add to the Calypso Git Repo before the code is uploaded.

Nigel asked if the Slack channel is the free version or is its history kept. John confirmed it was the free version but they had a plugin to capture history. John to confirm how we access that history.

John also to confirm if there are any additional approvals required to bring the code into Git.
