But you also need to support 3 or so different types of users (coffee shop, doctor's office, field scheduling,...), or some other features...

Discussed #4 will build a UI that lets users define their own scheduling problem. Maybe not all scheduling problems are possible. You might want to read about some of the things we talked about, namely:
Need to close #3 ASAP 🔥 so you can start learning your backend framework, for M3 research.
Client is English prof. needs a Scheduling webapp. The app will Read in a spreasheet of preferences and generate a schedule.
Remember to build this app for many users. While you only have 1 client, the app should be built so anyone with a similar need can use it to generate schedules.
