SpECTRE
SpECTRE is the next generation of SpEC with increased parallelization and hydrodynamics capabilities and is currently under development. Since it's currently under development, if you are interested in running production binary simulations, you should use SpEC. If you are interested in SpECTRE development, read below:
SpECTRE is open source and available on GitHub.
Documentation is available at here
SpECTRE papers are currently under development, but there is an outdated paper from 2016 about an early prototype version, DG-charm available here, though be aware that several bugs were found later in the code and in the initial conditions described. Furthermore, the numerical methods are not at all what SpECTRE uses nowadays. While still using DG, the entire approach to hydro is changed. If you would like access to the original git repo on BitBucket, please reach out Larry Kidder, Nils Deppe, or Saul Teukolsky.
You can always ask questions about SpECTRE on the #spectre
channel on the SXS Slack! There is a SpECTRE meeting where people provide updates and ask questions. This is another great place to ask for help or to ask for projects if you are interested in contributing.
