“GitBan”: Kanban GitHub repository issue tracking

Michael Hulse edited this page Jun 18, 2019 · 4 revisions

Multi-person example

1) Start with a GitHub repo:

gitban-02

2) Create some issues:

gitban-03

3) Write issue numbers on sticky notes:

gitban-sticky

4) Stick them on a whiteboard:

gitban-04

5) Use columns to track progress:

gitban-05

I created the “GitBan” system for use at The Register-Guard to track development issues.

Single-person example

In this example, I use this board along with BitBucket’s Jira:

single-person

I find the above is helpful for issues that span across multiple projects (esp. projects I don’t visit often); for individual projects/sprints, I use the Jira agile/kanban workflow and digital kanban board.
