Analyzing the Performance of an OpenMP and MPI Application

Intel recently published a deep-dive tutorial on "Analyzing the Performance of an OpenMP* and MPI Application". This tutorial could serve as a template for similar studies using other tools to trace,analyze and tune hybrid MPI/OpenMP applications by reviewing MPI utilization inefficiencies and balancing thread load levels. This tutorial uses Intel Parallel Studio Cluster Edition.

Parts of this tutorial can be conducted with smaller editions of Intel Parallel Studio 2018. Intel provides select software products at no cost to qualified open-source contributors who are working on projects that are compliant with the Open Source Initiative (OSI).
