Feature Description

I'm not sure if there's any immediate action to take, but I thought it might be useful to collect all of the blocking issues for supporting Chisel 7 in one spot.

Issues with Chisel 7 UInt API:

• WIP: Update Chisel from 6.5.0 to 7.0.0 fixedpoint#11

Issues with Chisel 7 removing ChiselAnnotation:

• Chisel 7 Support - ChiselAnnotation going away chipsalliance/diplomacy#18
• Chisel 7 Support - ChiselAnnotation going away constellation#81
• Chisel 7 Support - ChiselAnnotation going away chipsalliance/rocket-chip#3722

Motivating Example

Allowing Chipyard users to update to Chisel 7.

#2207 contains the changes to remove uses of ChiselAnnotation outside of firesim.

Status update: ucb-bar/fixedpoint#11 is working, but I'm going to leave it in a draft state until Chisel 7 is released (it's currently pointing to a recent SNAPSHOT release).
