  • Use Dymo to place labels "like a cartographer would".

  • Use Skeletron to remove duplicate street labels along dual-carriageway (separated highways, boulevards, etc).

  • Get placename data from Natural Earth (generalized world cities), GeoNames.org, or USGS / US Census.

  • Map Label Style Manual - Abbreviations, nicknames, foreign terms, translations, transliterations, diacritical marks, suggested placements, and more
