Navigate to required edit
The way that you navigate to the required edit depends on the format of the address notification you receive.
##Spatial File For SHP or TAB files; Save the SHP or TAB file to TA Bulkdata. Drag the file into the map frame within QGIS.
For a CSV with x,y; Change the projection system within QGIS to match the projection of the CSV. Save the CSV to TA Bulkdata. Select the Add Delimited Text Layer tool. Change the projection system within QGIS back to EPSG:4167.
Select the Layers tab, right click on the file you dragged in, select Open Attribute Table. You can sort by road if you require, just click the heading RoadName. You can add a label if you require, just double click the file name and turn on labels.
Click on the first address, then select Zoom to Selection. You may have to change your zoom scale to around 1:1000 to get a good view.
You will be matching the geometry provided by the TA, so it doesn’t matter whether parcels are in place or not. It also doesn’t matter whether or not it matches imagery.
##Non-Spatial File Select Search from the IntraMaps QGIS Connector. The IntraMaps Search pop-up will open. Navigate to the approximate location of the edit using a known address, road or appellation. When you get to the location, if the required parcel does not exist you will need to georeference in a plan of the area.
###Georeference Create a JPG of the plan. (Use the snipping tool or similar to capture the image). Save the JPG into TA Bulkdata.
Open the Georeferencer tool (under Raster). From within the Georeferencer, open the JPG you created using the Open Raster tool.
The Add Point tool is already selected, select a point on the image that you can recognise on the map pane of QGIS, then select that point on the map. Repeat this 5 times.
Then select the Start Georeferencing tool. It will ask for a Transformation type, select Helmert. Select the Browse button next to Output raster and accept the default filename. Ensure Load in QGIS when done is checked, and select OK.
The plan will now show on the map window. Double click on the plan file and set the transparency to 50%
###Imagery When you are placing the points, the 4819:2011 defines various address locations. Our preference for placement is;
- TA Supplied coordinates
- Building access point
- Building centroid
- Front centre setback
- Property Access Point Set Back (Driveway frontage in the diagram below)
- Property centroid (we use parcel centroid)
To enable you to see this, you will need to open the imagery for that area.
Select the current imagery tool and click within the map window.
