Address Information Management System

The Address Information Management System (AIMS) Qgis Plugin supports work flows across both address Registering and Reviewing roles. The plugin has been been designed with this separation of roles in mind as to support a transition into AIMS Phase Two.

Tools

Feature Registration

Use this tool to register a new AIMS Feature. Select the tool and then click on the map canvas to create a point geometry for the selected feature. Populate the feature form that appears (by default) on the left of the screen. At a minimum an address base number and road name or water route must be supplied. For an efficient work flow the user may use the "Number Splitter" field at the top the feature form to break a full address number in to its individual components. It is these individual number components that are submitted to the aims API / Database. Also for the users convenience the user can select the button to the right of the "Road Centreline Id" Field to activate the "Get Road Centreline Info" tool. once the tool is selected the user clicks on a road centreline and its attributes are populated in the feature form. Also next to the "Road Centreline Id" Field is a check box, if checked this will persist the road centreline in the form meaning that each new address will have the last road name selected populated against any successive records. This is to save time when adding many addresses to the same road centreline.

Once the minimum fields are populated click the button submit. If no warnings are shown the registered address will then be visible in the review table, awaiting review.

Relocate Feature

To re-position and AIMS feature, left click on a feature (if the feature is stacked, select from the pop-up dialogue indicating which features are to be move) and right click the features new position. If no warnings are displayed the repositioned feature(s) will then be visible in the review table, awaiting review.

Update Feature

Select this tool and click on a feature (if the feature is stacked, select from the pop-up dialogue as to indicate which feature is to be updated). Once a feature has been selected the feature form (on the left) will be displayed. Use this form to make the required edits to the feature and push the 'Submit' button. If no warnings are displayed the updated feature will be visible in the review table, awaiting review.

Retire Feature

Select the tool. Select a feature(s) to retire. If no warnings are displayed the retired feature will be visible in the review table, awaiting review.
