Decision making protocol

- Objective: Clearly state the decision to be made.
- Responsible: Project Manager
- Consulted: Tutor, stakeholder
- Informed: All team members and stakeholders
- Criteria might include, for example:
- Cost
- Time
- Risk
- Quality
- Stakeholder satisfaction
- Compliance
- Collect data such as:
- Budget constraints
- Resource availability
- Risk assessments
- Expert input
- List possible alternatives and assess each option using a weighted decision matrix (see sample below).
- Organize a decision meeting
- Discuss pros/cons of each option
- Use voting, ranking, or consensus methods
- Finalize based on evaluation and team input
- Document the rationale and final choice
- Notify all stakeholders of:
- The decision
- The reasons behind it
- The implementation plan
- Track implementation
- Measure effectiveness
- Be prepared to reassess if needed
