Blight

Spend too long in a blight storm and you may catch a blight disease. Your chance of catching the blight is determined by your coverage rating and whether you are wearing a face-covering. With maximum coverage and a face covering, your chance of catching a blight disease from a blight storm is very low.

Tents and covered bedrolls also provide protection against blight storms.

Flu

While you are cold and wet, you have a chance of catching the flu. The flu drains your intelligence and endurance, and causes you to sneeze periodically.

You will recover from the flu over time while you are warm and dry. You can also cure the flu by drinking Comberry Tea (see Tea Brewing).

Food Poisoning

If you eat raw meat, there is a chance you will get food poisoning. Your chance of getting food poisoning is determined by your resist disease. Cook meat on a grill to make it safe to eat (see Grilling). Food poisoning drains your strength and increases your hunger rate.

You will recover from food poisoning over time. You can also cure food poisoning by drinking Kreshweed Tea (see Tea Brewing).

Dysentery

If you drink dirty water, there is a chance you will get dysentery. Your chance of getting dysentery is determined by how much water you drank, as well as your Survival skill. Boil dirty water in a kettle or cooking pot to make it safe to drink (see Boiling Water).

You will recover from dysentery over time. you can also cure dysentery by drinking Roobrush Tea (see Tea Brewing).

Diseased Meat

Eating meat gathered from a diseased or blighted creature can cause the player to be infected with the same disease the creature had. Curing the creature’s disease with a spell before killing them will make the meat safe to eat. You can also reduce the chance of getting sick from eating diseased meat by increasing your Resist Common Disease or Resist Blight Disease effect.
