The StarPointer printed circuit board uses both surface-mounted and through-hole type components. To minimize soldering difficulties, we recommended soldering all the SMD components first.
The most suggested soldering order lists in below:
- Solder the STM32F103C8 microcontroller.
- Solder the USBLCLC6-2SC6 and RT9193-33GB ICs, respectively.
- Solder all SMD resistors and capacitors.
- Solder the status LED - D1
- Solder 8.000MHz and 32.768kHz crystals. Solder the 32.768kHz crystal to the ground plane for a more stable connection.
- Solder CR1220 battery holder.
- Solder all the male and female header blocks such as J1, J2, M1, and M2.
- Solder USB-B micro connector.
- Plug ADXL345 and HM5883L modules to M1 and M2 sockets.
- Insert a 3V CR1220 type Lithium battery into the battery holder.
- Connect ST-Link/V2 programmer to the PCB and flash the microcontroller.
All the above soldering steps are clearly shown in the video available here.
