Some things to do when you first join NaK

  1. Join the NaK mailing list (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/nak-announcements).

  2. Join the CRC mailing list (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/crcers)

  3. Join the CRC journal club (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/crc-physiology-and-rhythms)

  4. Request access to the NaK Google drive containing the weekly meetings and presenter schedule.

  5. Create a Mendeley account and request to join the CRC group to access the CRC annotated bibliography

  6. Set up your calendar

    1. Share your Google Calendar availability with the CRC Group (to aid with scheduling; tutorial here).

    2. Follow the main NaK Google Calendar (3 different ways):

  7. Create a GitHub account and join the CogRhythms group.

    1. Speak to someone about setting up Git push and pull functionality on your local computer.
  8. Check out the CRC Quick Reference for other useful resources.

  9. Join other neuroscience-related mailing lists of interest (see CRC Quick Reference).

  10. Set up an account on the BU Shared Computer Cluster (BU SCC) (see here):

    1. If you are interested in using the SCC, you either need to be added to an existing project or apply (or have a faculty member you are working with apply) to create a new project. Undergraduate and graduate students interested in using the facilities, but not yet associated with a Research Computing Project, may contact [email protected] to inquire about a start-up account with access to the batch nodes, a small CPU allocation, and limited time duration. Once you have an account, you can view your usage, change your default project, and update contact information.
  11. Email the web admin about adding your profile to the Cognitive Rhythms Collaborative website.
