Headlines is out of beta! This by no means implies that balance is refined to work with all play styles and bugs are a thing of the past. It means that the mod can be enjoyed as is, that the feature set is stable enough.

Thanks to everyone who has provided input, time to document issues, etc. This is highly appreciated. Glad to see people enjoying the same playstyle as I do.

Changelog:

  • Gameplay
    • Reputation decay is a bit gentler.
      • Space craze does not go as high as before.
      • Space craze updates are on average twice per year instead of monthly. Newsfeed announcement. removed as it does not really prompt user decisions.
      • Crossing the 20% reputation line can be better avoided with a good complement of high profile crew simply lending their names to the program.
      • Expect a healthy program to be in the 250-350 reputation range in the steady states, with spike around key milestones. Reputation is not comparable to KSP stock reputation that is expected to keep on going up. If you can sustain higher level, you'll be rewarded with a steady supply of higher profile crew members.
    • Live events can be postponed at a low penalty of 2% of your hype per day. It still is prudent to avoid scheduling tightly for events far into the future: one never knows what will happen in the KSC meanwhile.
  • UI
    • More explanations added to the [?] sections to address user feedback.
    • Beta testing cheat controls are excluded and replaced by a "under the hood" section with a similar purpose.

On the radar:

  • Headlines assumes a single KSC. This will be addressed later.
  • Open issue on fundraising that cannot be reproduced easily.

Changelog:

  • Gameplay
    • New collaborations and feuds are influenced by KSC's social network, and by cultural affinities.
    • Personnel panel can filter by crew specialties.
    • Big fish in a bigger pond:
      • The size of KSC/VAB/R&D rosters affects program complexity, and thus individual suitability.
      • Potential individual relative contributions are decreasing in an increasingly complex programs as they rely more on infrastructure than exceptional individuals.
