I am working on verilog-ethernet on Kintex-7 board. I also can't figure out how to make SGMII connections. Can you help me with this? Even if you can share files with me, it can help me understand faster.
In my own project, I wanted to implement the project by adding the XILINX gig_ethernet_pcs_pma IP to my fpga device, which does not have any phy chip, using the gmii connection pins. Thanks.

Download the source code and check this path, you will find the example which use SGMII.

BTW, if you connect to an external PHY using optical fiber, you should config the gig_ethernet_pcs_pma to 1000BASE-X mode instead.

Thanks for your quick response. Thanks to the SFP+ to RJ-45 converter module, I can exchange data at 1Gbit speed by selecting the 1000BASE-X option on the gig_ethernet_pcs_pma IP. What I'm wondering is, can I use the SGMII option with my converter module under my conditions? Or does 1000BASE-T not allow this?

There are two types of converters you can get. "1000BASE-T" modules that support 1000BASE-X only, or "10/100/1000" modules that support SGMII only. Make sure the PCS/PMA core config matches the module that you're using, otherwise the link won't work.
