EDOL infrastructure is made of private secure networks (#DCC) and "traditional" internet services (e.g. AWS, SaaS Providers, etc.)

DCC

The Data Communications Company (DCC) is a UK government-mandated organisation created to support a national rollout of Smart Meters.

  • Real-time energy usage measurement (30 minute resolution)
  • Secure data transmission
  • Automated meter readings (schedules)

The data is not accessible directly, but through DCC APIs (APIs)

"Traditional" Providers

Hildebrand

Hildebrand is a small British energy-tech company, based in London. They:

  • provide energy usage and participant management via their DCC API
  • sell Consumer Access Device - CAD
    • one model with display (discontinued)
    • a new version which is under development and looks more "industrial"

  • Software Development Services, Consulting
  • Data processing
  • Has two accounts, serl-test and serl-prod. The test account is not used much
  • serl-prod
    • 1 x EC2 machine called NiFi that is used to ru
