What readings we collect from Smart Meters

• AI Active Import (electricity and gas) - Active import occurs when the load consumes active power from the grid. This is the useful energy that performs work, such as producing heat, light, or mechanical motion.
• RI Reactive Import (electricity only) - because the grid provides AC, and the loads are not 100% resistive, some energy is not perfectly in sync with the grid
• AE Active Export (electricity only) - Some users have solar panels (solar photovoltaic panels, aka PV) and they put energy back into the grid.
