Volcanic Island
An explorer lucky enough to discover a volcanic island will almost certainly be stunned by its amazing detail and unique terrain. Legend says there are riches surrounding the volcano's magma chamber deep underground, for those who are brave enough to attempt to excavate around it.
The Volcanic Island is a hot tropical island biome dotted with Volcanoes, Jungle Palm trees, and 2 custom plants: the Monsteras, and the Indian Paintbrush flower. This biome also introduces Volcanic Rock (Basalt in 1.15 and below), Black Sand, and Andisol. The terrain itself is rather dynamic, featuring cliffs and huge beach areas that mark this biome as very unique.
The Volcanic island is made up of 3 parts and has a 10% chance of replacing a deep ocean biome:
- Volcanic Island Shore (
terrestria:volcanic_island_shore): The main part of the biome that replaces the deep ocean. - Volcanic Island (
terrestria:volcanic_island): The central landmass of the island - Volcanic Island Beach (
terrestria:volcanic_island_beach): The beachy surfaces that are mixed into the biome, not scarily next to the ocean. Typically comprised of normal Sand and Black Sand
The Volcanic Island is a Tropical climate, both warm and rainy.
The Volcanic island draws inspiration from many sources. The island itself serves to provide a tropical feel as seen in other mods, the beaches are very much inspired by Beta 1.7.3, the cliffs draw inspiration from Classic/Infdev generation, and the volcanoes themselves are intended to be a much improved version of the volcanoes found in Redpower 2 World.
