Happy New Year!
I have successfully installed your software on my Pixelbook and have been
using it for quite a few months successfully. I am running Ubuntu 19.10
using the PPA Embrosyn Cinnamon flavor. All was working fine up until now,
when I lost the sound to my headset, although the sound works fine on the
units internal speakers itself.
I have two questions. Can I upgrade to the newest version of your software
without blowing up the Ubuntu/cinnamon combination I am using which works
great except for the aforementioned headset problem? Secondly, will
re-running the updated script upgrade me to the latest chromium Kernel as
outlined in your 12-18 announcement? I currently have the older chromium
kernel provided in your original script installed, but I have locked it
down so Ubuntu does not try to upgrade it to the 5.X kernel version, and
kill all of the screen brightness, keyboard brightness and sound functions
I love. I could remove the kernel upgrade lock easily if required.
Please advise, as i do not want to go down a rabbit hole on this if all of
my changes and work to get the system finally running the way I always
wanted it to be undone. Many Thanks for your great work with the
Pixelbok-Linux software project, I have enjoyed it tremendously and it has
made my Pixelbook a joy to use.
Regards,
John Longobardo
