Not sure if this fixes the issue, but BUMP as I'm getting repeatedly [ERR] DL Track X failed.Can't get the streamUrl, type is application/dash+xml, even after changing API config from 1 to 4 as described in this thread

I've encountered this problem myself, too, in a long playlist many tracks are getting this error. I've tried changing the api key from 4 to 1 and back to 4, but it's still happening.

I'm using tidal-dl version: 2022.10.31.1 on Fedora 40.

did this really fix the problem for you? for me it's not perfect. 2 weeks ago I didn't have this issue at all...
So now some things can be downloaded after I added your code to the tidal.py
It seems that I only get the error if I download max quality, if I change it to HIFI then it works. I am using android auto so that shouldn't be an issue and the whole point of tidal-dl for me is the access to MAX quality. so i'd like to figure out a solution.

So it works for you to download MAX quality or just Hi-Fi?

What are your settings?

Also I'm using a Mac and tidal-dl in terminal, so there is no .exe for me

it solved the download error i had. i initially deleted my comment because i didn't compare the exe with the current state of the repo, but i guess you know if it's up to date. about the quality, i downloaded the files with up to 1mbps 44khz 16bit. but i think that was the best available quality.
