Chromebook LInux Install

We have been trying to install WPILib on our chromebooks but when we try to use the installer it says "cannot execute binary file". We have done exactly what it said in the documentation but still get that error. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

WPILib doesn't support Chromebooks. They run Android, which uses an ARM CPU we don't support. The Linux installer is only for x86-64.

Note that Chromebooks run Linux, not Android, and many of them have x86 processors.

Have you tried giving the installer execute permissions with chmod +x? Cursory googling of your error message suggests the executable is missing them.
