There has been a lot of notifications to my inbox lately on the updates to Robotbuilder to get it caught up to the New Command Based Model. I'm preparing my Robotbuilder seminar scheduled to be presented week one on Oct 31 at our virtual JUMPSTART event. It seems that both branches exposéd to the the public don't have these changes. How can I get the most recent versions that are nearly ready for basic Java New Command Based Model robots.

I would run the copy I have and help kickstart the Java model changes but I found just this evening the "Test Mode of a PID_Subsystem does NOT work. One of the most impressive things Robotbuilder Used to do was with no code written in VSCode a user could tune and program a PID subsystem. Is this bug known? has it been fixed? What I observed is the PID controls are Ungrouped and the Motor and Pot are assigned to the subsystem. Is the problem that the PID controller is not in the subsystem?

The public branches are what we have (there are no hidden or private robot builder branches). Tagging @sciencewhiz to answer the question about test mode.

Specifically, currently, master branch generates code for the old command framework, NewCommandFramework branch generates Java code for the new command framework, and C++ for new command framework is in wpilibsuite/RobotBuilder#248 but will merged to NewCommandFramework branch soon.

Yes commits in the #248 are what I based my observations on. The links have commits that state "This commit does not belong to any branch on this repository". I'm hoping to update my presentation to use the New Command Based model. I had to fall back on the Old model last season because Robot builder was not ready.

The more I reflect to the issues of the Robot Test mode issue with the PID_subsystem might be more to do with the WPILibJ Libraries. 6 years ago when I first got involved with FRC and discovered the tool Robotbuilder to help students jumpstart there knowledge I was impressed with how the tool helped you Scale the input and Tune the PID variables with no helper code needed to be created by the programmer. Over the years we lost the Scale function. The only way I have been able to get things to work is to scale to 0-5 for analog potentiometers. Building the Code base and all the Spendables that Robotbuilder does for the programmer are what attracted me to the Robotbuilder process. @sciencewhiz do you have any input to the issue I am abserving with PID_Subsystem Test Mode?

Note that wpilibsuite/RobotBuilder#248 should only be used for C++ New Command Framework. The NewCommandFramework branch is more up to date for Java.

I have been part of a team the past 2 years. Todd Kruse MN CSA has invited me to his Beta team. I have been unofficially CSA'ing with him the past few years. Now that I reduced my roles on team 3244 when events start to kick off again I will be singing on more officially. So Yes I'll be there. I was not going to sign up but again tag in with him.

Yep Todd registered 7068 for the beta. I'll tag in with them again. I suspect we will not see any official beta releases before October 31 for our seminars though. Unless...

@sciencewhiz Our team was declined as a beta tester this year.

Note that as of this weekend, RobotBuilder's master branch exports to the new command framework and the OldCommandFramework branch exports to the old command framework.
