This is the code and figures for a part of the chapter on benthic invertebrates (Chapter 4C) of the 3nd World Ocean Assessment Report (WOA III).

This is a collaboration between MarineRegions, the World Register of Marine Species and OBIS:

Input data

• the geodata (IHO Sea Areas) are provided by MarineRegions
• species information is provided by the World Register of Marine Species
• species distribution records are provided by OBIS

Output maps

WOA benthic invertebrate diversity maps are generated by IHO area and depth, and included in the general graph. This is generated in the file IHO_world_graph_woa3_4c.r

The pdf version provides a vector output of the graph and maps.
