Speed backup

If you want to create a super simple backup without having to read an entire book:

  1. Navigate to your WoW install folder
  2. Open up the version of WoW you want to backup (_retail_ = TWW, _classic_ = Mists, _classic_era_ = Era/HC/Anniversary)
  3. Right-click WTF and select Send to then Compressed (zipped) folder
  4. Rename the zip to something like todays date, upload it to a cloud or store it in a different folder

To make use and apply one of your backups:

  1. Grab your latest zip compressed backup folder and extract it (Windows: Right-click, Extract All)
  2. Delete your currently broken WTF folder in your WoW install
  3. Move the unzipped backup WTF folder in your WoW install
