HOBY New York East teaches high school sophomores leadership skills from across eastern New York. During the annual 3-day seminar, 200 students gather to learn personal, group and community leadership. Using community service to demonstrate and develop their skills provide beneficial aid to the local community. At the conclusion of the seminar, students are challenged to complete 100 hours of service over the next year. This brings nearly $60,000 to their home communities.
As a 100% volunteer run organization, all donations goes toward providing service project supplies, seminar activities, and other program expenses.
$225 is the cost for one student to attend the 3-day seminar. Running our scholarship program helps ensure equitable access to our program. This would create 1 scholarship each month and help send a student to our program.
