We provide the following template for your application. Please make sure that you coordinate your project details and schedule with your potential mentor before submitting the proposal.
- Full Name
- Location & time zone
- Contact information (mail & Skype)
- Github Username
- WWW / Blog (if any)
- Short Resume/CV including education
- Why this project idea?
- What are your expectations from us during and after successful completion of the program?
- What are you hoping to learn?
- What kind of projects have you worked on in the past? What technologies did you use?
- What is your experience with regard to programming languages/frameworks?
- Are you part of an open source community?
- Detailed description of the project idea
- Mention your deliverables
- Use flowcharts, diagrams, and mocks whenever appropriate
- Include a weekly timeline for your project from when the coding period begins to the end of the program including tasks and deliverables. If you are planning to go on a vacation or will be off-the-grid for a few days, then mention those in the timeline.
- Also, discuss your plans after GSoC period ends. Do you plan to continue working on the project after GSoC ends? What steps will you take to ensure that knowledge transfer to new contributors is easy?
