• Who is this for: Developers familiar with GitHub Copilot who want to scale code review

• What you'll learn: How to use GitHub Copilot for automated code reviews, customize review criteria, and set up automatic reviews

• What you'll build: You'll update the Mergington High School extracurricular activities website and customize Copilot to automatically review pull requests for you, enabling more teachers to contribute.

• Prerequisites:

  • GitHub Copilot subscription (paid plan is required)
  • Familiarity with reviewing code in pull requests
  • Familiarity with Codespaces, or Code with Codespaces Skills exercise
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, or Getting Started with GitHub Skills exercise

• How long: This exercise takes less than 1 hour to complete.

In this exercise, you will:

1. Use GitHub Copilot to review code directly in VS Code for immediate feedback
2. Request Copilot code reviews on pull requests
3. Customize Copilot's review considerations with repository-specific instructions
4. Configure automatic code reviews using repository rulesets

How to start this exercise
