Virtual Memory Cards

Virtual memory cards come in several formats but they all are psx card thats consists of 15 save and one headerblock. optionally some formats have additional headers and / or footer data.

*.ps Common Emulator format (Virtual Memory Card)
*.psm Common Emulator format (Virtual Memory Card)
*.bin Common Emulator format (Virtual Memory Card)
*.vgs Memory Card from Virtual Game Station
*.mem Memory Card from Virtual Game Station
*.gme Dex drive format virtual memory card
*.VM1 Internal PSX Memory Card on PS3 (Virtual Memory Card)
*.VMP VMC format used by the PSP and PsVita

Single Slot Exports Types

Ext Format Description
*.PSV Single save "Exported" by a PS3.
PSX RAW A Raw PSX memory card "file" extracted from a real or virtual memory card
*.mcs Psx Game Edit Save
*.ps1 Memory Juggle Save
*.psx XP AR GS Caetla Save
*.mcb Smart Link format
*.mcx Dantel Format
*.pda Dantel Format

Psx Raw Files

Valid Names: Depends on region, Name matches Id of disc#1 . FF7-S## where ## is 01-15 and changes the slot shown on the load / save screen as well as the icon seen in the built in memory card manager .

Other Notes:

  • A valid name is required when a ff7
  • Raw file stored on a playstation memory card. Real or Virtual.
  • Named like all psx games [REGION]-[GAMEID][GameString].
  • FF7-S## is the "name" seen in the Playstation's memory card manager.

PSV Format

Valid File Names: Based on PSX name above. Replaces the "FF7-S##" with shift-js text (in hex)
