This contains various improvements made for an (abandoned) large-scale benchmarking effort. In particular, this greatly improves logging and writing of trajectories, and introduces a new mode that recomputed selected steps with the unfolded heat flux on the fly.
This is somewhat battle-tested, but needs further eyes.
