Hey, I’m Ryan Hefner.

Software developer by necessity, product designer by heart, and eternal tinkerer.

I like crafting well-designed, nicely coded software that gracefully solves the problem at hand. I build products at Commune Software, publish open-source tools for the web, and share what I learn along the way.

What I’m working on

  • OpenGraphs — Open Graph image generation, metadata tooling, and optimization for sites and apps.
  • PostKit — Portable article components, Markdown tooling, link metadata resolvers, and framework adapters.
  • Chakra Email — React email templates with Chakra-style props, theme tokens, and email-safe rendering.
