Compiles a Rust differential-privacy library as a plain cdylib (setuptools-rust, binding=NoBinding, no CPython linkage at all) dlopened via ctypes at import time. Upstream publishes no riscv64 wheel.

Mirrors the x86_64 job of upstream's .build.yml: generate the Python glue code once (upstream's own architecture-independent bindings feature), build the sdist, then compile on riscv64 with cibuildwheel.

Differs from upstream

  • Single combined sdist job replaces upstream's separate bindings/python-sdist jobs - no other OS/arch to share the glue code with.
  • Dropped the aarch64 cross-compile job's manual bdist_wheel - riscv64 is a native runner here, so it follows the x86_64 cibuildwheel shape instead.

Testing

  • same as upstream (python -c "import opendp")

License: OK

Draft: the default-feature vendored OpenSSL build and the pinned polars crate make this a long, unproven riscv64 build - opening for CI visibility before claiming it works.

opendp (MIT) is a Rust differential-privacy library exposed to Python as a
plain cdylib via setuptools-rust (binding=NoBinding, no CPython linkage).
PyPI ships manylinux x86_64/aarch64, musllinux, macOS and Windows wheels but
no riscv64. Generates the Python glue code once (upstream's own "bindings"
feature, architecture-independent) on a standard runner, then compiles the
cdylib on the riscv64 runner with cibuildwheel, mirroring upstream's own
.build.yml x86_64 job narrowed to riscv64.
