Compiles the vendored MINUIT2 C++ minimization library (from ROOT's extern/root submodule) into a pybind11 extension via scikit-build-core. Upstream publishes no riscv64 wheel.

Mirrors upstream's release.yml wheels/sdist jobs.

Differs from upstream

  • Repeats upstream's PIP_ONLY_BINARY/UV_ONLY_BINARY and adds our registry index - CIBW_ENVIRONMENT replaces rather than merges upstream's table
  • musllinux dropped - numpy (a runtime dependency) ships no riscv64 musllinux wheel anywhere

Testing

  • same as upstream

License: Wheel also ships LICENSE.minuit2 (LGPL-2.1, the vendored MINUIT2 sources), which the upstream-published wheel omits despite its own LICENSE documenting that path.

Patches

  • 0001-Add-LICENSE.minuit2-for-the-vendored-MINUIT2-sources.patch - Upstream-Status: To upstream. Without it the wheel ships no license text at all for the LGPL-licensed MINUIT2 code it statically compiles in. Reproduces off riscv64 - the same gap is present in upstream's own published PyPI wheels.

Built on cp312; TBD passed, TBD skipped.

cibuildwheel 4.2.0 removed that enable-group entirely; upstream's pyproject.toml
still sets it, which is now a hard parse error before any container starts.
Free-threaded wheels build fine without any enable flag in this version.
