Name: Cody Gunton / @codygunton
WG: zkEVM
Start Date: 2025-04-01
Proposed weight: 1
Cody joined the ARG team at the EF to work full time on L1 scaling via zkEVMs, and was transferred to the zkEVM team when it was founded. His early work has focused on security of the proving systems whose proofs will be verified in the zk attester client.. He has built a RISC-V compliance testing dashboard and two fuzzers, and he has collaborated with zkVM teams such as RISC Zero and Jolt to fix bugs, expand compliance, and expand testing. A current project he is working on is to expand client diversity in the ZKVM context by building floating point support for OpenVM. He has presented on this work at Ethproofs Call 3 and at Zuberlin, was present at the 2025 Berlin interop, and has participated in discussions on both ethresear.ch and Ethereum Magicians.
