updateStatus was refactored in 703262c to selectively copy only Conditions, StartTime, and CompletionTime onto the freshly-fetched object before persisting, for safe merging across concurrent reconciles during leader handoff. When fcf8041 later added the Image status field for OVA import tracking, the copy in updateStatus was not extended to include it, so any change to status.image made during a reconcile is computed in memory but never actually written to the API server. The practical effect: ensureDestinationImageImported sets status.image.resolvedOVAUrl in Phase 2 and returns to requeue, but on the next reconcile that value reads back empty, so it re-resolves from scratch every time and phase 3 (download) is never reached, for both auto-resolved and user-provided OVA URLs. Fix: copy migration.Status.Image onto latest.Status.Image in updateStatus, mirroring the existing StartTime/CompletionTime pattern. Assisted-by: Claude Code

That refactor predates theImagestatus field, which was added afterward in fcf8041 for OVA import provenance tracking. TheImagefield was never added to the merge list, so it is silently dropped on every persist.Imagedoes not need the same kind of per-field conflict handling asConditions: it is a single sub-object owned entirely by the image-import phase (ensureDestinationImageImported), not something multiple condition-owning phases write independently. With this change, the same test passes.Also verified live on a real vSphere cluster (OCP 5.0.0-rc.1): before this fix,
