Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe
On Mar 6, 2024, the AWS SDK for JavaScript team published a blog post about end-of-support of JS SDK v2.
The JS SDK v2 entered maintenance mode on September 8, 2024 and is going to reach end-of-support on September 8, 2025. The JS SDK v2 at the time of comment is not receiving any API updates for new or existing services, or support for new regions. The JS SDK v3 already has 2X the number of downloads as compared to v2.
The OpenTelemetry Instrumentation for AWS SDK for JavaScript still supports JS SDK v2, and it’s an additional maintenance burden for existing component owners as instrumentation Node module definitions need to be created.
Describe the solution you'd like to see
Drop support for JS SDK v2 in OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
