Context and Problem Statement

What supplementary features might differentiate our website from others?

Decision Outcome

Chosen option: Local storage allows us to save session data from the user in order to preserve their customizations and form statistics based on previous sessions. This was accepted more so as a quality of life feature for returning users who don’t want to have to change the timer settings to the way that they want it every time. It also adds a bonus in preserving statistics, which might be a nice feature that helps the user to reflect on their productivity and work day.

2021-03-09 Update: Local storage will now reset daily regarding how Pomodoro statistics are tracked. It was considered for the reset time to be at 4 A.M due to the idea that students often have irregular sleep schedules when overloaded with work, but ultimately we decided with the reset time being at 12 A.M. This is ultimately more intuitive because the day ends at 12 A.M, and promotes better healthier sleeping habits.
