This repository provides the deployment configurations for the Naviqore public transit service and viewer. You can deploy the services using either a Helm chart for Kubernetes or Docker Compose for local development.
To deploy the Naviqore service and viewer using Helm, follow these steps:
helm install my-public-transit .
To change the GTFS feed URL without modifying the values.yaml file, you can override the value directly in the helm install or helm upgrade command:
helm install my-public-transit . --set publicTransitService.env.GTFS_STATIC_URI=https://your-new-gtfs-url.com/feed.zip
Alternatively, you can create a separate override-values.yaml
file:
publicTransitService:
env:
GTFS_STATIC_URI: "https://your-new-gtfs-url.com/feed.zip"
GTFS_STATIC_UPDATE_CRON: "0 0 4 * * *"
TRANSFER_TIME_SAME_STOP_DEFAULT: "120"
TRANSFER_TIME_BETWEEN_STOPS_MINIMUM: "-1"
TRANSFER_TIME_ACCESS_EGRESS: "15"
WALKING_SEARCH_RADIUS: "500"
WALKING_CALCULATOR_TYPE: "BEE_LINE_DISTANCE"
WALKING_SPEED: "1.4"
WALKING_DURATION_MINIMUM: "60"
RAPTOR_DAYS_TO_SCAN: "3"
RAPTOR_RANGE: "-1"
CACHE_SERVICE_DAY_SIZE: "5"
CACHE_EVICTION_STRATEGY: "LRU"
LOGGING_LEVEL_ROOT: "INFO"
MANAGEMENT_ENDPOINTS_WEB_EXPOSURE_INCLUDE: "health,info,metrics"
Then install or upgrade using this file:
helm install my-public-transit . -f override-values.yaml
To run the services locally using Minikube:
Start Minikube:
minikube start
Start and access the viewer:
helm install testing .
# Note: depending on the size of GTFS to load, it may take some time for the viewer to be availbale
minikube service public-transit-viewer
Stop Minikube:
helm uninstall testing
minikube delete
For local development, you can use Docker Compose to deploy locally.
Start the Services:
docker compose up
Stop the Services:
docker compose down
