I have learned a lot about how to secure a website and how to handle user authentication and authorization. I used sessions and cookies to authenticate Niclas and I used a middleware to authorize. I had to use CSRF tokens to prevent CSRF attacks. For the next project I will look into having multiple users and token based authentication.
