Things to keep in mind with TC2

TC2 is not a fully featured game; many things do not work.
- While the item schema loads properly, the GC will not matchmake you because of your old client version, so you can only connect to special TC2 servers. See our Discord for playtests on these.
-
Because TC2 is based on a source code leak from mid-2017, it predates many of the changes added in Jungle Inferno.
- For instance, while the item schema loads correctly, so you can edit your loadout freely with modern items, newer items may not actually work in-game, and Jungle Inferno (and later) balance changes are not implemented, despite what the item descriptions (from the modern schema) might say.
-
The latest HUDs will not work with TC2. This is because HUDs are simply a list of changes to the base game HUD; the HUD was dramatically reworked during Jungle Inferno, so only HUDs released before that will work.
-
Due to the substantial number of rendering and engine changes, most graphics configs are obsolete with TC2.
- Graphics configs are designed to lower your game settings in a fine-tuned way to improve performance, beyond the normal in-game options. TC2 is trying to improve performance with a different approach: modifying the game itself. As a result, many of the settings that graphics configs try to apply will just simply reduce performance or are redundant.
