Drum Talk

Drum-Talk is a language for communicating rhythm, articulation, and sticking through consise (traditionally spoken) words.

Language Features

  • Absolute words (1, e, &, ah,...) (implicit duration)
  • Relative words (tap, gock, tripulet) (implicit time (measure-location))
  • Rudiments (pre-defined word-groups)
  • Grouping (Tuplets)
  • Sticking, automatic alternation
  • Ornamentals
  • Time-Specifications ([2], [e], [&],...) (sets the time/offset of the following word)
  • Duration-Specifications (<2>, <4>, <8>,...)
