Hi there — I’m Raphael Poss (@knz) 👋

I help founder-led teams turn deep tech into clear decisions and momentum.

I’ve worked across compilers/OS/databases, and I’m fluent in C/C++/Go/Rust/Python. I’ve supported the teams at Cockroach Labs (CockroachDB) and Neon on architecture, engineering culture, and complex delivery.

  • Previously: 10 years in academia (computer architecture PhD) + 10 years in tech startups — built and led in infra at scale.
  • What I optimize for: fewer, better decisions; safer scaling; habits that last.
  • Interests: product design, management, unix, dignified living, the history of computing.
