Station Registration

Overview

Station registration is a semi-automated process. Each time an AirU station is powered on, the station runs a registration script (register-station.py) which registers the station ID with the AirU web service. The first time an AirU station is powered on it will attempt to register with the AirU web service. Once a station has already been powered on for the first time and has successfully registered with the AirU web service, then subsequent power cycles will not affect the registration status of the device, and you can officially associate that station with your account on the AirU web site.

To ensure a successful registration process, please use the checklist below to ensure all registration dependencies are met before powering the device on for the first time:

Dependencies

  • AirU station connected to WiFi or Ethernet
  • Create an account on the AirU website
  • Station ID # (found on the bottom of the station)

Note: If the dependencies listed above are not met the first time you power the system on, nothing will break. The data which is collected by the device simply won't be visible through the AirU web service.

End User's Responsibility

  1. Ensure that you have properly met the dependencies listed above.
  2. Power on the AirU station.
  3. Log-in to your AirU account
  4. Register the station by inputting the Station ID field.
