By using extending/updating Adobe's aem-spa-page-model-manager Model Client https://github.com/adobe/aem-spa-page-model-manager/blob/master/src/ModelClient.ts, you can enable an architecture where SPAs are developed independent and outside of AEM, and via clientlib generation, move the SPAs dist artifacts into an AEM clientlib to enable authoring inside AEM via external HTTP calls. This requires Basic Authentication enabled on your AEM instance along with CORS enabled from AEM.
This updated ModelClient along with updated SPA router redirectTo path also enables the SPA to be deployed independently and keep friendly urls.
