More Information

homebridge-opensprinkler-api is already verified for OpenSprinkler, so noting the comparison explicitly: this plugin adds multi-controller support, MQTT-driven real-time updates (with REST polling as fallback), program-trigger switches, rain/soil sensor exposure, and weather-adjusted water-level reporting - none of which the existing verified plugin supports (program triggering is listed as a future TODO on its own README). It also persists each valve's configured run duration across Homebridge restarts, where the existing plugin resets to config defaults on every restart. Built on HomeKit's native IrrigationSystem service with linked Valve accessories per zone (same model the existing plugin uses), and implements the full Homebridge Config UI X settings schema.

    🔴 Failed Checks

    Runtime Issues:

    • ⚠️ Plugin crashes when started with the following configuration:

      {
        "platform": "OpenSprinkler",
        "name": "OpenSprinkler",
        "controllers": [
          {
            "name": "Sprinklers",
            "host": "192.168.1.100",
            "port": 80,
            "passwordHash": "testpassword",
            "rainDelay": {
              "enabled": true,
              "defaultHours": 24
            },
            "programSwitches": false,
            "sensors": false,
            "waterLevel": false,
            "mqtt": {
              "enabled": false,
              "host": "192.168.1.100",
              "port": 1883,
              "username": "testuser@example.com",
              "password": "testpassword",
              "topicPrefix": "opensprinkler"
            }
          }
        ]
      }

      Error:

      expected startup but failed - Plugin initialization error detected

      This needs to be fixed so that the plugin does not send Homebridge into a crash-restart loop. The plugin could:

      • Handle missing required configuration gracefully with proper error messages
      • Provide sensible defaults for missing values
      • Validate configuration during startup and log helpful warnings

    Other Issues:

    • GitHub Repo: should contain releases
