FarmWeb 2.0 will seek to provide online interactive services and functionality to support a number of agricultural industry sectors including milk processors, agribusiness and producers as well as Catchment Management Authorities. The initial focus of this work will be applications in the Dairy industry. DPI will work collaboratively with Murray Goulburn Cooperative (MGC) Ltd for the co-development of trialing and testing of the FarmWeb 2.0 with their farmers. The developed systems will aim to provide a two way flow of data between government, industry and farmers/landholders and will utilise the most appropriate and latest technology components including mapping functionality and social media. Project Objectives

The objectives are to: Design, test and deploy a user-friendly web-based spatial mapping and data management program for the Victorian dairy industry, researchers and extension providers. To evaluate and communicate the usefulness and useability of FarmWeb 2.0 as a tool for better production and Natural Resource Management outcomes on farms and as an effective platform for sharing research outcomes with industry. To develop, apply and evaluate national data standards for the management and exchange of farm mapping data (FarmML) for Australian agricultural applications.
