Troubleshooting
If you see that message, then you chose game from wrong library (correctly should be written Legendary in it, not Epic alone).
If you see that message, then you need to check if Legendary binary is in right place. It needs to be:
- at
C:\Program Files\Legendary
or - at
{PlayniteDir}\Legendary
if it's portable Playnite or - installed with
pip
or - at
%LocalAppData%\Programs\heroic\resources\app.asar.unpacked\build\bin\x64\win32
if Heroic (non-portable) is installed or - at place added to PATH environment variable or plugin's settings.
PS: Installing with pip
is the most recommended method, so even if you have it at both places, then plugin will see pip package as first unless you change that at plugin's settings.
Some games might not start properly when option to start game in offline mode is enabled. In that case you can select some game, right click, choose Modify launch settings
and here uncheck offline mode.
However there are also other games with other problems. In case of Rockstar games, try opening Rockstar Launcher, then sign in and launch game again from Playnite. In case of other games, solutions for these can be found at https://github.com/derrod/legendary/wiki/Game-workarounds. If some require changes in config file, then instead of that it's recommended to select some game, right click, choose Legendary Launcher settings and here make required changes.
You can set only specific games to run directly without Legendary client. To do so:
- Edit then game and go to "Actions" tab
- Uncheck "Managed by library plugin" option
- Set play action to "Executable" type
- Change "Path" variable to game's executable path
Reinstall affected games to fix the issues. Usually happens when Legendary's config files are damaged or when user tries to move games manually between disk drives.
You should remove all games from list for Legendary if you already imported them, then install Epic Store library integration plugin, connect account, import games and then go back to Legendary plugin settings, select Migrate all games from Epic plugin
and follow instructions. When this process will complete, you can uninstall Epic plugin.
You can install or uninstall DLCs if you select base game, then right click and choose Manage DLCs
.
Games by EA require EA app to launch, so Legendary plugin intentionally doesn't import them to prevent duplicates.
Install EA app, then go to Plugin settings => Additional services
, then click proper button to activate games and follow instructions. And when you have done it, then you can use EA app integration plugin to import these games.
Games by Ubisoft require Ubisoft Connect to launch, so Legendary plugin intentionally doesn't import them by default to prevent duplicates.
You can change that in Plugin settings, but not all of them can be installed with Legendary and some may need updates provided only through Ubisoft Connect, so instead of that it's recommended to go to Plugin settings => Additional services
, then click proper button to activate games and follow instructions. And when you have done it, then you can use Ubisoft integration plugin to import these games.
Not all games might support overlay. However in some cases additional tools like Special K could cause problems.
